Well it’s hot here in Ct – and all the people who live here know it! It is in the 90’s with 90% humidity – ick! We haven’t had rain in a long time, and the meadow grass is dying.

I am typing this update with the AC blasting, looking out the window, and there is Willie and Rosie, munching green grass sprigs – seemingly oblivious (for the moment) of the heat. Half the meadow is in shade, so at least they get somewhat of a break from the sun glaring down on them.

Rosie’s newest thing, is running and bouncing, leaping as she goes. It is the funniest thing you have ever seen, like a jumping bean – all four legs bunched together, then boing! as she takes a flying leap in the air – all legs splayed like a jack and marbles- landing, a few bounds – then boing! off she goes again – obviously she is happy, and feeling good!

She also loves to run the entire length of the meadow, to the very edge – up leap up onto some rocks – kind of like Queen of the Hill - paws at the dirt like a bull – then runs full blast across the other length of the meadow.

I was petting Willie – who has turned into a mush mush – long eyelashes – eyes half closed as I scratch him under the chin – little Willie – so cute – Rosie in all her charging – runs up behind him – blasting full tilt towards us, and then stops suddenly right behind him. “Hey look at ME” she seems to be saying – pawing with her hoof at Willie’s back. He pays her no attention, eyes half closed chin puckered as I rub his little chin hairs….”HEY LOOK AT ME”!!!!!! she really screams stomping her hoofs, then butts him hard. Poor Willie, that’s all he can take, and he runs away across the meadow. Like 2 kids – it is so funny!

Willie, is gaining weight, I have not weighed him, but his belly is bigger, and his ribs are not concave anymore! I ended up giving them 1 type of worming meds, soon I will give another in a week or so.

They had a visitor, feeding as usual – a friend of the contractor – and Rosie now knows when her photo is being taken, as you can see!

Construction with the house slowly continues, and I am also happy to say I was able to obtain 20 130 lbs pound bales of alfalfa hay – which was delivered AND stacked for me from Hicksville, Long Island!!!!! It is gorgeous hay, and Willie and Rosie LOVE it. It actually took precedence over my motorcycles, which are now parked in the driveway, instead of the garage! That’s huge!!

More updates soon!!
